On the way out
28 June 2012Today I handed in my notice. Well actually I did not formally give notice (that has to be written), but my intentions are now known to the company. Had planned to wait until after the current projects were shipped, but other factors prevented better timing.
My official reason is that for some time I had planned on cutting my remaining ties to Bristol, which in itself is true (I spend a lot of weekends and almost all days off away), and that my next move was something that I had to do before I got much older. Of course there are company-specific issues that led to the underlying decision to cut my ties, but given the amount of notice involved (way above what my contract requires), I am keeping those to myself for now.
Of course it also means that I am unlikely to wrangle one last trip abroad on business.. :(
